About me

My name is Irma and for 10 years I have been cooking for my family and friends. Two years ago I started with food photography and with exploring recipes and adapting them to my liking. During this period of two years, at least once per week I was asked why don’t I start my own web about food and cooking. Apparently I have finally ceded before presures because here you are on my own online gastro magazine.

Aside from recipes, I will try to write up gastro stories from my travels. A specific part of the magazine is the section Gastronomad(s), because I eat in restaurants frequently and I will gladly share those experiences and reviews of restaurant I visit.

About Chakula

Why chakula? Chakula in Swahili language means food. At the same time in Dalmatia and in the wider Meditteranean, ćakulati means to have a casual conversation, as we mostly do with good food we our dear people. Well that is exactly how I see this part of my online work and I hope we will have a fun times together over food.
