Frankly, I know that many will be delighted with this recipe. And I’m on the same mission: every traditional recipe can be made and nothing is impossible to cook. On the other hand, in our family, we all like beans. Additional value: you have lunch for at least two days. We ate this one for 3 days, it’s so good and I made it so much.
The recipe is step by step, with photos, so it cannot fail.
Preparation time: 30 minutes + 2 hours of cooking
– 500 g beans
– 1 potato
– 1/2 carrot
– 1 clove of garlic
– 1/2 clove of onion
– 200 g of dry meat
– tomatoes in a tube
– salt and pepper
If you buy white beans, you need to soak it the day before. We do this by dipping the beans in water, as in the photo.
If you buy brown beans, this step is not needed. For white beans this is done because it has a hard membrane, so you soak it to cook it easier.
Before cooking, prepare all the ingredients. Peel and wash the potato and carrot. Cut all the ingredients into cubes.
I previously mentioned that I use a glass cutting board, which is very practical in this case, because the glass plate does not absorb odors and is easy to clean.
In the pot in which we cook the beans, put the oil to heat it, then add the onion so it gets the golden color, and add the garlic.
Add dry meat and stir briefly. The scents are wonderful.
Then add the potatoes and stir again briefly.
Finally we add the carrot.
And then the beans with water in which it was soaked. Add more water. Season and simmer and add 2 tablespoons of tube tomatoes. During cooking we will also add water.
Beans are cooked in light fire. On my stove, the maximum cooking power is 9, and the beans are cooked at 7, for about 2 hours.
During cooking, we add water as needed. After 2 hours we try whether the beans are cooked and cook it for another 30 minutes if necessary. Also, if there is a need, add more salt and pepper.
This gorgeous bowl is a gift from Morocco, but beans will be excellent no matter in what you serve it. Trust me on this!
