Have you already made or eaten tahini paste? When I made St. Patrick’s Day Muffins, I used black sesame. I got left with a lot of black sesame, so I was thinking how to use it.

From black sesame I made tahini paste, and then these energy bites. Easy to make, you eat them in two bites and try to eat only one.

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Tahini paste

200 g black sesame

4 tablespoons of olive oil

80 g grinded hazelnuts

4 dates

100 g tahini paste (1/3 cup)

4 tablespoons of honey

3/4 teaspoon of salt

30 g cocoa

ground hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds and 2 teaspoons of cocoa, for dusting

For tahini paste: briefly toast the sesame (5 min) on a pan or in the oven. Transfer the toasted seeds to a blender and add olive oil. Periodically stop the chopper and remove the paste from the sides to make the mixture even. After 5 minutes, the paste is ready.

Preparing the bites. Toast the hazelnuts for 5 minutes in the oven. Peal the hazelnuts and put it in a blender. Chop the hazelnuts and add dates, tahini paste, honey, salt and cocoa. Blend the mixture until it equals.

Sprinkle your hands with water in order to shape the mixture into balls. Put the bites on baking paper and transfer to the fridge for 20 minutes.

Dip each bite one half into cocoa and the other in a mixture of ground hazelnuts and pumpkin seeds.

And that’s it! Enjoy these tasty bites.
