I have a confession to make. I do not like strudels. At all. Except this one. And this is the only strudel you need to love and the best recipe ever.

I believe that as I do these days, you are “overdosing” with cherries. After all, they are In season in June. This recipe is at least 50 years old and has never failed. Very simple, traditional, and yet modern, because everyone will be delighted that you made a strudel with a cherries.

I’ll make it on Thursday, so you can join me on Instagram stories, and I’ll take you step by step how to make it.

Preparation time: 60 minutes

– 1 pack of strudel dough

– around 750 g od cherries

– 3 solid yoghurts

– 1,5 cups of sugar

– 1,5 cups of semolina

– 1 cup of oil

– 1 vanilla sugar

– 1 baking powder

– 100 g of butter

– 2 tablespoons of milk

Clean the cherries from seeds, was and leave it in the bowl to drain. Mix yoghurt, sugar, semolina, oil, vanilla sugar and baking powder in a uniform mixture. Place the baking paper on the baking tray and turn the oven to 190 ° C.

Arrange the strudel in the following way: sprinkle the first sheet of the dough with 5 tablespoons of yoghurt mixture, put the second sheet of the dough and sprinkle with another 5 tablespoons of the mixture, put the third sheet and sprinkle with 5 teaspoons of yoghurt mixture. Put the 4th sheet of the dough and arrange on it half of the prepared cherries and sprinkle with a few drops of oil. Carefully roll the strudel and transfer to the baking tray. Repeat the same procedure for another strudel.

Strudels are baked in a heated oven for a total of 40-45 minutes. After 15 minutes of baking, brush the strudels with melted butter to which we added a little milk. Repeat the coating 1-2 times until the end of the baking.

Take the baked strudels out of the oven and brush once again with melted butter + milk. Cover the strudels with a cloth so that it softens slightly.

Try to wait with eating until it is cooled at least a little.
