The holidays and the time of giving are coming. For all of us food lovers, anything to do with food is the perfect gift. Of course, if you want to inspire someone to cook more in the new year, cookbooks are the perfect gift.

These are the top 5 cookbooks of my choice, published in 2019.

  1. Cooking Japanese food at home

If you love Asian flavors, then cookbook “Japanese Home Cooking” is the one for you. For those who are experienced in the kitchen or beginners, there are over 100 recipes in the book. The author presents traditional Japanese recipes, taking into account the simple aesthetics, all accompanied by beautiful photographs. Absolutely an unexpected gift, right?

  1. How about cooking vegan?

I really enjoy discovering new flavors and new recipes. You will be surprised by the cookbook “I Can Cook Vegan”, in which there are 125 vegan recipes. You will learn how to make pasta, salads, sandwiches, sweets – all without ingredients of animal origin. I can’t wait to check out this cookbook!

  1. Pastry Bible!

I was sold by photos in this cookbook. The author of “Pastry Love: A Baker’s Journal of Favorite Recipes” through 125 recipes communicates her love for pastry. Different pies, cakes, pastries – to me it sounds perfect for the long winter ahead. What a wonderful gift under the tree!

  1. When you are having people over

This cookbook is the one for our mothers – so they can know that they don’t have to bring birds’ milk when guests are over. The cookbook with and interesting title “Nothing Fancy: Unfussy food for having people over” is the New York Times bestseller. No matter if your neighbor comes by, if you are organizing a weekend get together or party for 15 people – this cookbook has great recipes that do not require hours spent in the kitchen. Sit down and memorize each recipe right before the holidays.

  1. That gorgeous bread!

The cover photo is from the cookbook “Living Bread: Tradition and Innovation in Artisan Bread Making”. A total of 60 recipes for different types of bread, pizza, sweet pastry. If you ask me, it is an absolute heaven of hedonism. Homemade bread is also one of trends in food in 2019. Sold!
