I have a confession to make. This Winter smoothie is the first smoothie I made in my life and potentially the second or third I ever tried. I am simply more of fruit eating instead of fruit blending and drinking it – type of person. But, I might be wrong in my world.

Truth be told, I am a huge fan of citruses and sour tastes in everything. If you leave out he honey from this recipe (and that depends on how sour for your taste you find the blend, i.e. how much do you like to sweeten it) you will get a true energy boost for a Sunday morning, from this recipe.

Out of this blend, you get 2 glasses of smoothie. The red blend was left for another glass, so it was a great leftover for Monday morning.

Preparation time: 20 minutes


1 mango

50 ml lemon

1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric

50 ml fresh squeezed orange juice

2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger

1 cup frozen raspberries

50 ml fresh squeezed blood orange juice

100 ml pomegranate juice

honey to taste (optional)


Chop the mango into slices and combine it in a blender together with lemon juice, turmeric, ginger and orange juice. Blend the mix until it evens out. Add honey to taste and pour into glasses.

Rinse out the blender, combine raspberries, blood orange juice and pomegranate juice. Blend the mix until smooth. Add into the glasses over the light mix and that’s about it.
